چکیده

Abstract: This work presents a novel electromagnetic actuation concept that aims at the conversion of electromagnetic force into fluid power to enable gentle handling of biomedical fluids through circular microchannel. This concept is tested successfully on a mesoscale model and showed attractive concept suitable for microfluidic applications. In microtechnology, planar microcoils that offer enough magnetic forces suitable for actuation purposes are required. For this purpose, simple analytical expressions that estimate for the magnetic field intensity at different parameters (current, number of turns and gap between two neighbouring turns) in a planar spiral curved microcoil are developed.

Electromagnetic field analysis of novel low cogging force, linear switched reluctance motor, based on 2-D finite element method

This paper deals with electromagnetic design and 2-D (two-dimensional) magnetic field analysis of novel low force ripple linear switched reluctance (LSR) motor. The configuration that has been presented here has a higher number of rotor poles than stator poles, and the purpose of this configuration is to improve the force ripple, which is the weak point of LSRMs. In order to illustrate the ...

Influences of magnetic field in viscoelastic fluid

This communication influences on magnetohydrodynamic flow of viscoelastic fluid with magnetic field induced by oscillating plate. General solutions have been found out for velocity and shear stress profiles using mathematical transformations (Integral transforms). The governing partial differential equations have been solved analytically under boundary conditions u(0,t)=A_0 H(t)sinΩt and u(0,t)...

Magnetic Actuator in Space and Application for High Precision Formation Flying

Electromagnetic (EM) actuators in space applications are not a new idea, but they are most of the time associated to low Earth orbit missions, where the on-board magnetic moment interacts with the Earth magnetic field. More recently EM actuators have been studied in the context of formation flying as a way to generate inter-spacecraft force and torque in order to control the formation geometry ...

Decoupled Dynamics Modelling of an Electromagnetic Valve Actuator

The paper presents numerical modeling of the dynamics of recently developed electromagnetic valve actuator. The decoupled modelling approach is employed consisting of three-dimensional finite element analysis of the magnetic field of the actuator and solution of the dynamics equations on the basis of functions obtained from the magnetic field analysis. For the finite element analysis ANSYS prog...
